Getting ready for 2009 the year of the Diamond DA40

It is getting to be that time around here … time to rev up on the goal setting and year-end analysis. Well this year, it is time for me to achieve one of my material goals of buying an airplane, a goal that I have had on the Dreamboard for more than two years.

My plan is to aquire the Diamond DA40 aircaraft this year, and use it to get both my VFR (flying under the clouds) and IFR (flying above the clouds) licenses. This aircraft will allow me to do both.

If you research this aircraft, you will find it has an immaculate safety record and is a great training aircraft. It also can be leased back to the local flight school to keep my costs down. Once I get my ratings and get comfortable with this aircraft. Once that happens, the turbine-powered (otherwise known as a private jet) will be on the Dreamboard -but we will save that for our next goal setting session next year.

I will be adding a lot of pictures and videos as I would through the process of buying my first airplane. Stay tuned!
