Minimalist Running with the Vibram SeeYas

I am loving this whole concept of minimalist running. There is something natural about running almost barefoot. You really can feel the difference when you put on a pair of Vibrams compared to a normal running shoe. The key is to make sure you do the proper training before you jump right in.

This PDF from Vibram will help you. Just follow this link and you will get some amazing tips.

For me it is about strengthening my feet and calves. I could not believe how much pain I was in when I did not to the proper training and I just went out running. It really challenged me and pushed me to get my feet in better shape. This style of running is more natural.

Make sure you follow the Vibram manual for getting started. Another area that Billy Beck III introduced me too was using a golf ball to break down the scare tissue and massage the bottom of the foot. This technique is amazing for overall foot health. Even if you do not get into minimalist running give the golf ball a try, your feel will love you for it.

I will keep you updated on my new training experience of minimalist running. If you have some experience I would love to hear your comments and thoughts below.

The London Olympics are Here – Celebrating the Athletes

Really pumped up that Olympics are starting real soon. I wanted to shoot a quick video to discuss some of things that I think a really important about this upcoming Olympics. There a 4 things specifically that I think are critical that we understand when it comes to these athletes at the Olympics.

The first thing that we need to celebrate in this Olympics is the athlete. We have to understand the amount of training that goes into getting into this position or getting qualifying for the Olympics. It’s a lifelong process for many of these athletes and we need to celebrate it. So, as you watch the Olympic Games this year, make sure you celebrate the athlete.

The second thing that we need to celebrate is the champions of the Olympics. That is those people win Gold, Silver, or Bronze. They used their talent, mental strength and abilities to medal. We need to celebrate them because they are true champions.[bquote_right]If they qualified for the Olympics they already are a winners[/bquote_right]

The third thing we need to celebrate is everyone that is participating in the Olympics. If they got to the Olympics they are a winner. It takes a lot of hard work, it takes a lifelong of training, just to get there. As you watch the Olympics make sure you celebrate all the athletes no matter where they finished they are all true champions.

Finally, let’s celebrate sport and competition. Without sport we wouldn’t have the Olympics, it’s an awesome time to celebrate sport. It is also a great time to celebrate competition. Competition brings the best out in each of us, it makes us better, it makes everything much better.

As you watch the Olympics over the next couple weeks. Make sure you take time just to sit back, and enjoy the sport that you’re watching. Understand the sacrifices that each athlete has made. Celebrate the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in each event. Then celebrate all the athletes, all the countries and all the participants that are involved in this wonderful event called the Olympics.

4 Steps to Getting Back At It!

Living your dreams and having an amazing lifestyle is not always glamorous. Things happen to all of us, even me, and when it does you have to get through it and then let it go and get back at it. I have not posted in awhile and I wanted to get a video up on getting back at it and what I am doing about. You see, I had an injury that turned into a 4 month excuse. [bquote_left] I had an injury that turned into a 4 month excuse.[/bquote_left]It happens to the best of us. The key  is to get right back up, and do it, to it. This applies to physical challenges, but also can be applied to backsliding in anything.

Here are my 4 tips to getting back at it.

1. Buy NEW Stuff! That is right you get to go shopping. Go buy some new gear, join a new website (like MonringCoach.com), enroll in a new class. When you buy new things it creates energy that you are going to go out there and DO IT!

2. Collect some data. Set some new goals. Understand where you are at now and focus on the next step. Get some blood drawn so you can see what is happening inside, or make some new plans on what you are going to track.

3. Get a Coach, Teacher, Mentor or Trainer. Get someone around you to help you and provide some consistency. That is why I have done MorningCoach.com over the last 4 years and almost 1500 episodes, to help you stay on track. Bottom line, get some amazing people in your corner.

4. Have FUN!!!!!

If you are stuck and trying to move forward, try and apply those 4 things. They have helped me stay focused and reach my goals when I have backslid and I know they can help you! We are all in this together. Stay focused and keep moving forward.

Much Love.
