5 Tips to Hitting Your New Year's Resolution

Sixty-two % of all people who set New Year’s resolutions are on to other things within two months. I know I see many of them in January who then disappear by March. I used to be one of those. Not hitting the goals that I was after. Making the same resolutions year after year. That all changed, and now every year is an amazing year for growth. I actually love setting the things that I am going to hit in the New Year.

Are you ready to hit your New Year’s resolutions? It is time to follow these tips and hit the goals that you are dreaming of attaining in the new year.

1. Clarity and Focus

One of the main issues people have is they truly don’t know what they want. They think they want to lose 20 pounds but what is the motivation? Why do they want to do it? I hear so many people say “I want to look better.” That won’t motivate you to not eat that amazing cheese cake that is being passed around after dinner.

You need to be clear about why you are going after the resolution and be focused on its attainment. Make sure that you truly want to go after it. Many people are searching for happiness on the outside; remember it is on the inside.

2. Consistency

Make sure that you are moving forward on a consistent basis. This is one of the main reasons I started MorningCoach.com and have done over 1,000 top-ranked CoachCasts. I found that most people need accountability or a system to maintain consistency, so I started MorningCoach.com.

Find your system, your plan, and stick with it. Don’t be one of the 62 percent who quit on their dreams within the first two months.

3. Small Steps

Take small steps toward your resolutions. I teach 1 percent improvement daily. If you focus on the daily activities, you can do it. It is when we get stuck thinking about the future or the past that we lose the ability to keep moving forward.

Work today—tomorrow and the future have their own issues. Take the bull by the horns and become present where the power is.

4. Rewards

When you move forward with the small steps, reward yourself along the way. It is important to bring some positive into your life. You do this by rewarding yourself as you move forward.

I am also a huge fan of journaling. Write down these positives as you go and review them weekly. This will build positive conditioning in your mind so that you can do it. This will also help you in the attainment of dreams in the future.

5. Build the belief

Thoughts are things, but beliefs make them so. Take the time to truly believe. Many people have lost the ability to believe in themselves. This, along with consistency, is one of the main reasons that I started MorningCoach.com.

Build the belief in yourself and your dreams. Don’t let anyone steal your dream. You can hit your New Year’s resolutions if you just stay focused. Stay motivated, work on your consistency, take small steps, and reward yourself along the way. This will lead to you building the belief necessary to attain your New Year’s resolutions.
