[dropcap1]I[/dropcap1] videoed the recording of episode 1385 for MorningCoach.com today. I wanted to show my listeners the way that it is done, and also show the group that follow me, from the internet marketing perspective. The video is at the bottom of the page.
As you can see from the video, I have gone away from the studio using all the sound proofing to this small Apogee Mic microphone. It does an amazing job. The clarity rocks like my more expensive microphones. I can also use it with my MacBook Air instead of putting everything through my Mac Pro. This gives me massive flexibility.

When I started podcasting 4 years ago there where many barriers to entry. Technology has erased many of these barriers to entry. This allows almost anyone with a computer to get into podcasting. I think many people have fear of the microphone. You just need to have a plan and have some fun. With this current technology, like the Apogee Mic and the MacBook Air with GarageBand you are ready to go.
There are a few things I would suggest any podcaster do:
1. Have a story list. Write down things that happen to you in your life. You can use these whenever you want to make a point of just freshen up the conversation. People love stories. Keep a list in a spreadsheet program, and have a title and a memory jogger. I also like to put some notes on how I would use the story. Really helps in preparing content. People always ask me, “where do you get the content for over 1385 podcasts?” It is all about the story list.
2. Work in threes. Start with a main topic. Then break it down into three separate segments. Each of these segments should be a sub-topic to the main topic. Then, take each sub-topic and put three points to it. These can be stories, questions, survey feedback, definitions. This will give you a clear way to organize your thoughts.
As an outline:
Main Topic
Subtopic
3 Points
Subtopic
3 Points
Subtopic

By doing those two things above you should have a solid outline for a 10 – 15 minute podcast that will rock. Don’t worry too much about what other people think. Put some amazing value out there and believe in yourself. The confidence and energy is the key.
It takes time. My first 300 where very rough. Just keep practicing and you will get it.
